Hi There!


Cooking fantasy is authored and maintained by me, Kavya. All recipes you find in the blog are purely vegetarian (Yes, no egg too!). This blog is something I started in mid 2009 when I had moved to US after marriage and was just learning to cook and got introduced to different cuisines, recipes over the internet. I have a full time job in the software industry and this blog started as a hobby. I am currently in the US with my hubby, who works for the same company :)


All recipes in the blog are tried and tested in my kitchen. A few recipes are my own creation. Many recipes are adapted, borrowed versions from the internet, TV or Mom's/MIL's notes and modified as per my taste. I have mentioned the source as and when applicable. Sometimes I would have a recipe in mind and not even remember where I got it from. 


Food photography was something which got me into blogging. I am not a professional when it comes to clicking pictures, however I am just trying to learn more about lighting and other technicalities. I need to update my camera first! Most of the pictures are from  Canon powershot  and few of them from my Android phone. 


Many pictures in the blog are taken during evening/night, because that is when I get some free time to prepare something with patience and click pictures. So I apologize for bad pictures in the earlier blogs. I am planning to update them soon. 


All pictures are copyrighted and belongs to me. Any unauthorized usage will constitute plagiarism.

This site is open to your comments, thoughts, opinions and constructive criticism about the recipe, pictures or any improvisation. Any irrelevant, rude and inappropriate comments will be deleted. Most of the recipes in there have ingredients which are mostly available in the part of the world I live in. If you are looking for any substitutes, I may not be the best to answer that. 


Food is a personal choice, each family has their own version of the same recipe passed down to them from ages. Measurements indicated in the recipes are according to my (my family's) taste or with which I have been raised. So you can adjust seasoning, spiciness as per your need. I would do my best to answer all you queries if I am able to.
